PTP Inhibitor

S-15176 is a potent inhibitor of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore (PTP). It effectively prevents mitochondrial swelling induced by tert-butylhydroperoxide with an IC50 of 45.7 μM. S-15176 inhibits PTP opening, preserves mitochondrial membrane potential, and enhances NAD(P)H oxidation, while increasing the mitochondrial calcium loading capacity. This compound holds potential for research in ischemia-reperfusion injury and related mitochondrial dysfunctions.
