SL-052

Photosensitizer

SL-052 is a hypocrellin-based photosensitizer primarily targeting cancer cells through photodynamic therapy (PDT). Encapsulated within biodegradable polylactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) nanoparticles, this formulation demonstrates enhanced effectiveness in treating subcutaneous SCCVII squamous cell carcinoma. Optimized via single emulsion solvent evaporation technology, SL-052-PLGA nanoparticles exhibit superior therapeutic outcomes compared to other SL-052 formulations. Prolonging the interval between drug administration and tumor illumination further augments tumor cure rates, establishing SL-052-PLGA as a promising candidate for cancer PDT applications.
