Sphingosylphosphorylcholine

Bioactive Lipid

Sphingosylphosphorylcholine is a bioactive lipid that binds to the OGR1 receptor with a dissociation constant (Kd) of 33.3 nM. This compound promotes delayed phosphorylation of Smad2, enhances α-SMA expression, and activates the TRPM3 channel, demonstrating anti-apoptotic properties and benefits in cardiac hypertrophy and wound healing. With its ability to downregulate apoptosis while upregulating uPA and its receptor uPA-R, Sphingosylphosphorylcholine is valuable in research related to conditions such as atopic dermatitis, promyelocytic leukemia, heart failure, and various cancers, as well as skin wound healing disorders associated with diabetes.
