Spirapril
ACE Inhibitor
Spirapril is a potent angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that effectively crosses the blood-brain barrier, exhibiting significant antihypertensive properties. By competitively binding to ACE, it inhibits the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, leading to decreased blood pressure. As an orally active prodrug of Spiraprilat, Spirapril is utilized in research related to hypertension and congestive heart failure.
