Tanomastat

MMPs Inhibitor

Tanomastat is a non-peptidic biphenyl inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), featuring a Zn-binding carboxyl group that enhances its efficacy. It demonstrates potent inhibition with Ki values of 11 nM for MMP-2, 143 nM for MMP-3, 301 nM for MMP-9, and 1470 nM for MMP-13. Tanomastat exhibits significant anti-invasive and antimetastatic properties in various experimental tumor models, making it a valuable tool for cancer research and therapeutic investigations targeting MMP activity.
