Tazobactam sodium

Beta-lactamase Inhibitor

Tazobactam sodium is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that enhances the efficacy of beta-lactam antibiotics by preventing the breakdown of their molecular structure. It is commonly used in combination with ceftolozane to extend its antimicrobial activity against extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Enterobacteriaceae and certain Bacteroides species. This compound is valuable in research applications focused on combating antibiotic resistance and studying the mechanisms of beta-lactamase enzymes.
