Tebuquine

Antimalarial Agent

Tebuquine (WR228258) is a 4-aminoquinoline compound that functions as a potent antimalarial agent targeting Plasmodium falciparum. It exhibits strong inhibitory activity against both chloroquine-sensitive (HB3 strain) and chloroquine-resistant (K1 strain) strains, with IC50 values of 0.9 nM and 20.8 nM, respectively. Tebuquine is valuable for research into malaria treatment and the mechanisms of resistance in Plasmodium species.
