Thio-acridone

Photosensitizer

Thio-acridone (SACD) is a photosensitizer that generates a long-lived triplet state upon excitation with 470 nm visible light. This process leads to the production of singlet oxygen, causing damage to the structures and functions of target cells, including cancer cells. Additionally, Thio-acridone acts as a CDK4/Cyclin D1 inhibitor, exhibiting an IC50 of 2 µM. Its dual mechanism underscores its potential utility in cancer research.
