Tiron
Metal Chelator
Tiron is a non-toxic metal chelator that effectively binds various metal ions. As a cell-permeable analog of vitamin E, Tiron functions as a hydroxyl radical and superoxide scavenger, exhibiting antioxidant properties. It is suitable for research applications aimed at alleviating acute metal overload in biological systems, particularly in animal models.
