TPP-Ce6

Mitochondria Targeting Photosensitizer

TPP-Ce6 is a mitochondria-targeting photosensitizer formed by conjugating chlorophyll e6 (Ce6) with triphenylphosphine (TPP) through an ester bond. Upon light irradiation, TPP-Ce6 generates reactive oxygen species (ROS), predominantly singlet oxygen, which can induce oxidative stress, resulting in mitochondrial dysfunction and apoptosis. This compound is useful for investigating mitochondrial roles in apoptosis and energy metabolism, as well as for applications in cancer therapy.
