Trandolapril

ACE Inhibitor

Trandolapril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that is converted to its active form, Trandolaprilat, through hydrolysis. This prodrug is primarily utilized in the management of hypertension, congestive heart failure (CHF), and post-myocardial infarction (MI) recovery. Its inhibition of the ACE pathway results in decreased production of angiotensin II, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. Trandolapril is widely used in cardiovascular research to explore mechanisms of hypertension and heart failure therapy.
