Trimetrexate glucuronate

Dihydrofolate Reductase Inhibitor

Trimetrexate glucuronate is a potent inhibitor of dihydrofolate reductase, effectively functioning as a folic acid antagonist. By disrupting the synthesis of purine nucleotides and thymidylate, it significantly impairs DNA and RNA synthesis. This compound exhibits potential antitumor activity and is also applicable in the treatment and inhibition of Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia, making it a valuable tool in cancer research and infectious disease studies.
