Trypsin

Serine Protease

Trypsin is a serine protease that hydrolyzes proteins at the carboxyl side of lysine or arginine residues. It activates protease-activated receptors PAR2 and PAR4, playing a crucial role in cell signaling. In the context of porcine delta coronavirus (PDCoV) infection, trypsin facilitates cell-to-cell membrane fusion through the interaction of the S glycoprotein and pAPN. Additionally, trypsin is involved in promoting cell proliferation and differentiation, making it valuable for research in wound healing and neurogenic inflammation.
