AFN-1252 tosylate
FabI Inhibitor
AFN-1252 tosylate is a selective inhibitor of FabI, a crucial enzyme involved in fatty acid biosynthesis in Staphylococcus spp. This compound demonstrates potent antimicrobial activity, with MIC90 values as low as 0.015 μg/ml against various clinical isolates of Staphylococcus aureus. In vivo studies indicate that AFN-1252 tosylate offers significant protection in a mouse model of septicemia, effectively safeguarding against lethal peritoneal infections caused by S. aureus.
