Aspochalasin D

Antimicrobial Agent

Aspochalasin D is a co-metabolite derived from Aspergillus microcysticus that exhibits antimicrobial properties. This compound demonstrates antibacterial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria at a concentration of 1 mg/mL. Additionally, Aspochalasin D exhibits cytotoxic effects on Ba/F3-V12 cells, inducing apoptosis with lower IC50 values of 0.49 μg/mL in IL-3-free conditions compared to 1.9 μg/mL in the presence of IL-3. Its unique biological profile makes it a valuable reagent for research in antimicrobial and cytotoxicity studies.
