Chlorindanol

Antiseptic Agent

Chlorindanol (7-Chloro-4-indanol) is an antiseptic agent that functions by rapidly eliminating a broad range of vegetative bacteria and pathogens, including Trichophyton species, Candida albicans, Entamoeba histolytica cysts and trophozoites, Trichomonas vaginalis, and spermatozoa in vitro. With low systemic toxicity and good tolerance for skin, eyes, and genital mucosa, Chlorindanol is suitable for various topical applications. Its non-allergenic profile makes it a valuable reagent for exploring antimicrobial properties and antiseptic formulations in research.
