Crobenetine hydrochloride

Na+ Channel Inhibitor

Crobenetine hydrochloride is a selective inhibitor of sodium (Na+) channels that effectively displaces 3HBTX from site 2 of the Na+ channel, demonstrating an IC50 of 49 nM in rat brain synaptosomes. This compound exhibits minimal affinity for other receptors and ion channels, ensuring specificity in its action. Notably, Crobenetine hydrochloride has been shown to protect brain tissue from the harmful effects of focal cerebral ischemia in rodent models, making it valuable for research in neuroprotection and related therapeutic applications.
