Fluoroquinolone Antimicrobial Agent

DS21412020 is a fluoroquinolone antimicrobial agent targeting bacterial DNA gyrase (GyrA) and topoisomerase IV, resulting in the induction of DNA breaks. This compound demonstrates potent antibacterial activity against both Gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus (MIC = 0.006 μg/mL) and Streptococcus pneumoniae (MIC = 0.05 μg/mL), as well as antibiotic-resistant strains like methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MIC = 0.2 μg/mL). Additionally, it is effective against Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli (MIC = 0.006 μg/mL) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (MIC = 0.78 μg/mL). DS21412020 has shown a significant reduction in bacterial load in mouse models of pneumonia and MRSA infections, making it a valuable candidate for the development of next-generation quinolone antibiotics.
