Eprociclovir

Antiviral Drug

Eprociclovir is an antiviral drug that functions as a nucleoside analogue. Its triphosphate form is phosphorylated into the active form within virus-infected cells by viral and cellular enzymes, including viral thymidine kinase, leading to the inhibition of viral DNA polymerase. Eprociclovir exhibits primary activity against herpes viruses, such as cytomegalovirus (CMV) and herpes simplex virus (HSV). This compound is suitable for research applications involving studies of these sensitive viral pathogens.
