Etaconazol

Fungicide

Etaconazol is an azole fungicide that primarily targets 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (3β-HSD1), inhibiting its activity and thus impacting steroidogenesis in the placenta. This compound exhibits endocrine-disrupting potential by binding to the NAD+/steroid-binding site of the enzyme, affecting both the free enzyme and the enzyme-substrate complex. Etaconazol is applicable in research involving endocrine disruption and the mechanistic study of steroid synthesis pathways.
