Flusulfamide

Fungicide

Flusulfamide is a sulfonanilide fungicide that effectively targets the germination process of resting spores of Plasmodiophora brassicae, the causative agent of clubroot disease in cruciferous crops. It inhibits the progression of resting spores through developmental stages by downregulating germination-related genes and upregulating immunophilin genes, leading to abnormal accumulation of the PbCYP3 protein and continuous energy depletion without germination. Additionally, Flusulfamide initially reduces soil ATP content, although soil microbial biomass shows gradual recovery after three days. This compound is extensively utilized in research aimed at understanding and controlling clubroot disease.
