FtsZ Inhibitor
FtsZ-IN-1 is an effective inhibitor of the FtsZ protein, a key target in bacterial cell division. This compound demonstrates significant antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, with minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs) ranging from 0.5 to 8 μg/mL. FtsZ-IN-1 promotes cell elongation in Bacillus subtilis by enhancing FtsZ polymerization, making it a valuable tool for studying bacterial growth and division. Additionally, it exhibits low hemolytic toxicity and a reduced potential to induce drug resistance, highlighting its promise in combating drug-resistant bacterial strains.
