FtsZ Inhibitor

FtsZ-IN-13 is a potent inhibitor of the temperature-sensitive mutant Z protein (FtsZ) with IC50 values of 47.97 µM and 34 µM against FtsZSa and FtsZPa, respectively. This compound demonstrates significant antimicrobial activity, effectively inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus, including clinical isolates associated with cystic fibrosis and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), with a minimum inhibitory concentration of 2 µg/mL. FtsZ-IN-13 is suitable for studies focused on antimicrobial resistance and FtsZ-targeted therapeutic development.
