Ganciclovir triphosphate

CMV Inhibitor

Ganciclovir triphosphate (GCV-TP) is an analog of 2'-deoxyguanosine that serves as a potent inhibitor of human cytomegalovirus (CMV) replication. It exerts its antiviral activity by binding to viral DNA polymerase, disrupting the synthesis of viral DNA. GCV-TP demonstrates an IC50 of 0.01 μM against various CMV strains, including those from humans, monkeys, mice, and guinea pigs. Additionally, Ganciclovir triphosphate is utilized in gene-directed enzyme prodrug therapy, making it relevant in cancer research.
