It activates the Gq/11 protein-mediated signaling pathway, promoting neuronal firing and enhancing long-term potentiation (LTP) in the hippocampal CA1 region. This compound is valuable for investigating cognitive impairment mechanisms, including those related to Alzheimer's disease, and has demonstrated pro-cognitive effects in models of nicotine withdrawal cognitive dysfunction.
