MHC

Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) research products include peptide antigens that MHC molecules present to T cells. Class I molecules display peptides from cytosolic proteins to cytotoxic T cells, whereas class II molecules present to helper T cells. In 1974 virus-specific T cell killing was shown to require a shared MHC haplotype, known as MHC restriction. The 1987 crystal structure of human leukocyte antigen A2 (HLA-A2) revealed a peptide-binding groove between two α-helices. The chicken ovalbumin (OVA) epitope SIINFEKL is offered as OVA Peptide(257-264) TFA, a trifluoroacetate salt. It binds the mouse class I molecule H-2Kb and is used to stimulate ovalbumin-specific cytotoxic T cells. OVA (55-62) is a second ovalbumin peptide presented by H-2Kb in mouse T cell studies.

  • Pam2Cys
    Cat. No.
    A35341

    Pam2Cys

    Synonyms: Dipalmitoyl-S-glyceryl-cysteine; S-[2,3-Bis(palmitoyloxy)propyl]cysteine

Pam2Cys is a TLR2 agonist that acts as an immunostimulant by binding to TLR2, activating dendritic cells, and initiating the TLR2-dependent NF-κB signaling pathway. This compound promotes dendritic cell maturation through the upregulation of MHC II molecules, enhances innate immune signaling, and drives pro-inflammatory responses, including the release of IL-12 and other cytokines. Additionally, Pam2Cys serves as a lipid moiety in synthetic lipopeptide vaccines, boosting immunogenicity, while selectively inducing pro-inflammatory macrophage activation. Research applications include studies on tuberculosis and influenza A virus infections, as it effectively recruits immune cells and mitigates infection-related symptoms without compromising adaptive immunity.

  • Cholic acid 7-sulfate
    Cat. No.
    A60388

    Cholic acid 7-sulfate

    Synonyms: 7-Sulfocholic acid

Cholic acid 7-sulfate is a selective agonist for the TGR5 receptor with an EC50 of 0.17 μM. This compound enhances GLP-1 secretion in enteroendocrine L cells, leading to improved glucose tolerance through TGR5 activation. Additionally, as an endogenous ligand for MHC class I-related protein (MR1), it supports the survival of mucosal-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells and influences their development and function by modulating homeostatic gene expression. Cholic acid 7-sulfate is valuable in studies related to diabetes and MAIT cell-mediated immune regulation.

  • MOG (35-55), human
    Cat. No.
    A65020

    MOG (35-55), human

MOG (35-55), human is a peptide derived from myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein, primarily functioning as an EAE inducer. This peptide possesses unique immunogenic properties as it binds to H-2b class II MHC and is recognized by T cells, facilitating the study of autoimmune responses in the central nervous system. Although it is associated with minimal clinical signs of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis compared to its rodent counterpart, mMOG (35-55), it is crucial for understanding the mechanisms of demyelination and neuroinflammation. Research applications include model development for multiple sclerosis and the exploration of T cell activation in autoimmune diseases.

  • DMHCA
    Cat. No.
    A76520

    DMHCA

DMHCA is a potent and selective liver X receptor (LXR) agonist that specifically activates the cholesterol efflux pathway while avoiding the stimulation of triglyceride synthesis. This compound exhibits anti-inflammatory properties, making it a valuable tool for research in cholesterol homeostasis and diabetes. DMHCA's selective mechanism provides insight into the role of LXR modulation in metabolic disorders.
