MmpL3 Inhibitor

MSU-43557 is a selective inhibitor of the mycobacterial transporter MmpL3 (MAB_4508), demonstrating potent bactericidal activity against Mycobacterium abscessus. By inhibiting MmpL3, MSU-43557 disrupts the synthesis of trehalose monomycolate, leading to a significant reduction in the viability of biofilm-associated M. abscessus and intracellular forms. This compound exhibits low cytotoxicity in eukaryotic cells and a minimal resistance frequency in M. abscessus strains, making it a valuable tool for research into mycobacterial infections.
