Nilofabicin

FabI Inhibitor

Nilofabicin is a potent inhibitor of the enoyl-(acyl-carrier protein) reductase (FabI), a vital enzyme in fatty acid synthesis. It demonstrates bactericidal activity with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC90) of 0.5 µg/ml against Staphylococcus aureus strains, surpassing the efficacy of linezolid and vancomycin. This compound is suitable for research applications focused on antimicrobial drug development and resistance mechanisms.
