Nitroxoline

Antibiofilm Agent

Nitroxoline, an antibiotic and orally active antibiofilm agent, primarily targets the reduction and dispersal of biofilms formed by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Its mechanism involves the chelation of iron and zinc, which disrupts biofilm integrity. Nitroxoline is applicable in the study of urinary tract infections and possesses potential research implications in cancer biology.
