MMP Inhibitor
PF-00356231 hydrochloride is a selective inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase 12 (MMP-12), exhibiting an IC50 of 1.4 µM. It forms a complex with MMP-12, effectively inhibiting its activity, while also demonstrating potency against other matrix metalloproteinases, including MMP-13 (IC50 = 0.00065 µM), MMP-8 (IC50 = 1.7 µM), MMP-9 (IC50 = 0.98 µM), and MMP-3 (IC50 = 0.39 µM). This compound is valuable in research exploring the roles of MMPs in various pathological conditions, including chronic inflammation and tissue remodeling.
