Pseurotin A
Chitin Synthase Inhibitor
Pseurotin A is a competitive inhibitor of chitin synthase derived from fungi such as Aspergillus. It functions as a neuritogenic agent, exhibiting significant biological activity by inhibiting IgE production with an IC50 of 3.6 μM. Additionally, Pseurotin A disrupts the PCSK9-LDL receptor interaction, leading to a dose-dependent reduction of PCSK9 and an increase in LDLR levels in hormone-dependent breast cancer cell lines. This compound demonstrates promising antitumor activity, making it relevant for research in cancer biology and therapeutic development.
