MMP-12 Inhibitor
(R)-MMP408 is a potent inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-12 (MMP-12), exhibiting an IC50 of 2.0 nM for human MMP-12. This compound effectively modulates the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) by upregulating E-cadherin in nasal epithelial cells while simultaneously inhibiting mesenchymal markers such as vimentin, α-smooth muscle actin, and fibronectin, thus reversing the EMT phenotype. (R)-MMP408 is instrumental in research related to airway remodeling diseases, including chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and asthma.
