TASIN-1

APC(TR) Inhibitor

TASIN-1 is a selective inhibitor of truncated adenomatous polyposis coli gene (APC) that induces cytotoxic effects by disrupting cholesterol biosynthesis. This compound specifically targets colorectal cancer (CRC) cells harboring APC truncated mutations, demonstrating minimal toxicity to wild-type APC cells. By inhibiting Emopamil binding protein (EBP), TASIN-1 triggers endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, generates reactive oxygen species (ROS), and activates JNK-mediated apoptosis while suppressing Akt survival signaling. TASIN-1 is relevant for research focused on APC mutant colorectal cancer intervention and prevention.
