TPU-0037C

Antimicrobial Agent

TPU-0037C is a potent antimicrobial agent derived from the marine actinomycete S. platensis, exhibiting structural similarities to Lydicamycin. It demonstrates significant activity against Gram-positive bacteria, with minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) ranging from 0.39 to 3.13 μg/mL, including efficacy against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MIC=3.13 μg/mL). However, TPU-0037C shows limited effectiveness against Gram-negative bacteria, with MICs exceeding 50 μg/mL. This compound is valuable for research applications focusing on antibiotic resistance and the development of new antimicrobial therapies.
