Anti-inflammatory Agent
trans-Isoferulic acid, an aromatic acid and potent anti-inflammatory agent, is derived from the roots of Clematis florida var. plena. It effectively inhibits the production of nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) by inducing Nrf2-dependent heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1).
