Antimicrobial/Acaricide Agent
(-)-trans-Myrtanol is an antimicrobial and acaricide agent that demonstrates significant activity against harmful intestinal bacteria. It exhibits potent acaricidal properties against common allergenic mites, including Dermatophagoides farinae and Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus, with LD50 values of 2.30 µg/cm² and 2.22 µg/cm², respectively, and also targets Tyrophagus putrescentiae with an LD50 of 12.95 µg/cm². This compound is valuable for research in microbiology and acarology, providing effective options for controlling microbial and mite infestations.
