TXA497

Local Topical Bactericide

TXA497 is a potent local topical bactericide that targets the bacterial cell division protein FtsZ, disrupting its polymerization kinetics. This compound demonstrates significant bactericidal activity against various strains of Staphylococcus aureus, including both MRSA and MSSA, with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) between 1.0 and 2.0 μg/mL. TXA497 exhibits concentration-dependent skin deposition, adhering to Fick's first law, and has limited systemic permeability through the stratum corneum lipid pathway. This reagent is suitable for research focused on the development and study of topical bactericidal agents.
