Anti-MRSA Agent

ZLWH-67 is a β-Carboline derivative that functions as an antibacterial agent targeting methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). It effectively inhibits DNA synthesis, suppresses biofilm formation, and elevates reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels, resulting in potent in vitro antibacterial activity with MIC values of 0.5-4 μg/mL against MRSA. Additionally, ZLWH-67 demonstrates significant activity against other bacterial strains, including S. epidermidis, E. faecalis, and S. pneumoniae. In vivo studies reveal its potential as an effective treatment for MRSA infections in murine skin and pneumonia models.
