Microtubule/Tubulin

Microtubule and tubulin inhibitors bind tubulin and either stabilize microtubules or block their assembly. Microtubules are dynamic polymers of α/β-tubulin dimers that build the mitotic spindle and serve as tracks for intracellular transport. Compounds that alter their dynamics arrest cells in mitosis and are standard tools in cell division research. Taxanes such as paclitaxel, docetaxel and cabazitaxel stabilize microtubules, and paclitaxel was shown in 1979 to promote tubulin assembly in vitro. Epothilone B and ixabepilone also stabilize microtubules through the taxane binding region of β-tubulin. The vinca alkaloids vincristine and vinorelbine, colchicine and eribulin act in the opposite direction and suppress polymerization.

    Monomethyl auristatin E

    Synonyms: MMAE

Monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE) is an antimitotic agent which inhibits cell division by blocking the polymerisation of tubulin, and also shows inhibition of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) activity.

  • Methylophiopogonanone B
    Cat. No.
    A24805

    Methylophiopogonanone B

Methylophiopogonanone B is a homoisoflavonoid that serves as a Ras activator. Isolated from the root of Ophiopogon japonicus, it exhibits potent antioxidant properties. This compound enhances GTP-Rho levels and activates the Rho signaling pathway, thereby inducing morphological changes in cells, such as actin cytoskeletal reorganization, dendrite retraction, and stress fiber formation. It is a valuable reagent for research into cellular signaling and structural dynamics.
