CaMK inhibitors block calcium- and calmodulin-dependent protein kinases (CaMKs) in calcium signaling. Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII), a multisubunit enzyme abundant at synapses, is central to synaptic strengthening and memory formation, as reviewed in 2002.
