Ezetimibe is a compound that lowers cholesterol. It acts by decreasing cholesterol absorption in the intestine. Ezetimibe localises at the brush border of the small intestine, where ezetimibe inhibits the absorption of cholesterol from the intestine.

Anacetrapib (MK-0859) is a CETP inhibitor being developed to treat hypercholesterolemia (elevated cholesterol levels) and prevent cardiovascular disease.

Probucol lowers the level of cholesterol in the bloodstream by increasing the rate of LDL catabolism. Additionally, probucol may inhibit cholesterol synthesis and delay cholesterol absorption.
