Adenosine Deaminase

Cladribine is a synthetic anti-cancer agent that mimics the nucleoside adenosine and thus inhibits the enzyme adenosine deaminase, which interferes with the cell's ability to process DNA.

Pentostatin is an irreversible inhibitor of adenosine deaminase (Ki = 2.5 pM).

EHNA hydrochloride is a specific inhibitor of adenosine deaminase, prevents dAdo degradation and increases mitochondrial dATP levels in fibroblasts.
